DESCRIPTION:Miners Theater welcomes The Steve Ewing Band with Guest Brian Krumm and His Barfly Friends to support the CHS Band – Jason Moss Scholarship \n\n\n\nHistoric Miners Theater is teaming up with The Steve Ewing Band and Brian Krumm to bring you an amazing night of live music with proceeds benefitting the Jason Moss Memorial Scholarship Fund for Collinsville High School Band Kids. \n\n\n\nSteve Ewing – St. Louis-based musician Steve Ewing is best known as the golden voice behind the seven piece powerhouse The Urge. Formed in high school back in late 80’s\, The Urge took their eclectic mix of punk\, reggae\, hip hop\, and ska\, and sent a sonic shockwave from the Midwest that can still be felt to this day. \n\n\n\nSince The Urge\, Steve has been involved in a multitude of projects including production work for artists such as Lojic\, Egress\, and many others. However\, the passion still lies in performing and he tears it up onstage every chance he gets. You can find him performing across the country with The Urge\, the Steve Ewing Band\, the Steve Ewing Duo\, and Master Blaster. \n\n\n\nBrian Krumm and his Barfly Friends – Krumm grew up in Collinsville and resides in Chicago with his family. He is a 1989 graduate of Collinsville High School\, where he enjoyed playing guitar in the CHS Jazz Band\, and a 2024 inductee of the Kahok Hall of Fame as a member of the 1986 state champion soccer team. \n\n\n\nBrian Krumm and His Barfly Friends is a project led by Brian Krumm\, front man for Chicago’s Americana-noir group The Great Crusades. The band’s debut album\, Just Fade Away\, was recorded with members of his regular band as well as a who’s who of Chicago music scene notables\, with Crusader Christian Moder producing. Just Fade Away was released by Chicago’s Pravda Records. Influences like Robyn Hitchcock\, the Jayhawks\, Warren Zevon\, and Dylan shine through all the material on Just Fade Away with Krumm’s storytelling at the forefront.
